Lineage Logistics contracted with Fisher Construction Group to build a 216,777 sq.ft. LEED certified facility, which includes 151,000 sq. ft. of cold storage and dock space, and 65,000 sq. ft. dedicated to onsite food processing for Lineage’s tenant Titan Frozen Fruit. With the capacity to blast freeze 1 million pounds of product per day, the facility will play a major role in meeting the expanding food processing needs in the Santa Maria, California region. One of the more unique factors of the project is the shared resources and expertise between the third-party logistics company and the food processor.  Join representatives from all three companies as they discuss the in’s and out’s of the project.

Industry Innovations: Building ALDI’s New Regional HQ & Distribution Center

A leader in the grocery retail industry, ALDI Inc. recently expanded to the West Coast of the United States with their new Regional Headquarters and Distribution Center located in Moreno Valley, California. Graycor Construction Company, an IACSC member, led the project as the design-build partner. The 835,000-square-foot building houses 270,000 square feet of cold storage space with five different space temperature, 480,000 square feet of ambient dry storage space, and a two-story corporate office. The fast track design/build delivery method resulted in ALDI occupying the building two weeks ahead of schedule and under budget. Attend this session to hear more about the project and how the team worked together to meet challenges and stay on task.

Louis Borders is the founder and CEO of HDS Global, an online mall/ecommerce service consumers can use to shop for groceries and general merchandise from the world’s leading retailers. HDS has developed RoboFS™, a software-defined fulfillment system that combines intelligent vision with mobile and articulated robots into an integrated, end-to-end solution. Borders was also a founder of Borders Books & Music, Synergy Software, and Webvan.

Borders will speak to attendees about the construction and design elements that are featured in HDS’ home delivery service warehouses. He will also address HDS Global’s model and how the model, as well as construction/design groups, will affect the supply chain.
