Since January, we have had the pleasure of welcoming six new European member companies to the GCCA family.  Learn more about them below. 

Constellation Cold Logistics is a platform comprising market-leading European cold storage and logistics businesses. Constellation’s platform companies, which currently include Stockhabo* in Belgium, Lintelo in the Netherlands and Glacio in Norway. They are essential infrastructure partners to a large and diversified group of food producers, wholesalers and retailers. The companies provide critical cold storage and value-added logistics to their customers, ensuring the integrity, safety and efficiency of a wide range of international and local food supply chains.  “We are pleased to join the GCCA and support its objectives of growing and strengthening the cold chain for all of its stakeholders,” said Jordan Cott, Partner at Arcus Infrastructure Partners, which is a long-term infrastructure investor and leading shareholder in the Constellation platform. “Partnership is a key principle for the Constellation platform, and we look forward to contributing as a new partner to the GCCA mission.”

 

Koel- en Vrieshuis Lintelo B.V. (Lintelo) is a market leader in the provision of cold chain infrastructure solutions to the food industry. Part of the Constellation platform, Lintelo was established in 1962, with a strong heritage and history of customer-oriented innovation and high performance that has enabled the Company to grow consistently alongside its customers in the global food market. The company currently has a footprint comprising two state-of-the-art cold storage facilities in the Netherlands, with a combined capacity of 60,000 pallet positions and offering a range of value-added services including blast freezing, tempering, packing, order picking and customs services, among others. “We have been very involved in the Dutch cold storage association, NEKOVRI, for a long time, and see an opportunity to continue to share ideas on collective innovation in the cold chain as a member of the GCCA,” explained Arie and Wim van de Put, Co-Managing Directors of Lintelo.

 

Glacio and K&S Termotransport (together, the Glacio Group) are market leaders in third-party cold storage and logistics in Norway. The Glacio Group has two modern facilities with attractive and well-connected locations in Fredrikstad and Rakkestad, as well as transport operations based in Sarpsborg. Founded over 40 years ago and now part of the Constellation platform, the company has built up a very solid position as a preferred supplier to leading players in the Norwegian food industry. The group aims to provide services of the highest quality and be the preferred 3PL partner in cold storage and transport in Norway. “Our operations span a huge number of activities in the cold chain, from storage and handling, blast freezing and thawing, through to port-based container handling and land transport around Norway,” said Espen Karlsen, CEO of the Glacio Group. “One of the reasons we joined the GCCA is to help us stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and standards so that we can ensure we continue to provide leading-edge solutions to our customers.”

 

Jodifrost NV is a family owned, modern and efficient warehousing company. Jodifrost NV has been active in the storage of frozen products since 1985. Our facilities are certified with IFS Logiscics Higher Level. Our ambient warehouse in Ramsdonk features modern unloading and loading docks and is equipped with drive-in racks. Our cold store in Puurs has been in use since January 2005 and uses advanced automation including roller conveyors and mobile racks enabling access to each and every pallet. All our facilities are equipped with the very latest technologies regarding food safety, detection, control and registration of machines and temperature, the most recent IT and warehouse management systems and barcode scanning. We are also a customs warehouse and have veterinary service available on demand. “We have joined GCCA because we find it an excellent way to stay up to date with all changes in a fast-developing branch of the food industry. Staying in contact with the entire cold chain worldwide gives us better perspectives towards the future”, explains Joris Olbrechts, Director.

 

LUNDSØE Køl & Frys A/S is a market leader in Denmark providing value-added and logistics services across four facilities. Completely tailored to each customer’s needs, their sectioned frozen and chilled warehouses enable both short and long-term storage. Value-added services include freezing, picking, glazing, packing, counterbalance weighing, sorting, palletizing, trans-loading, labeling as well as inspection and sampling, amongst others. “We have joined GCCA because we think that cold store services is becoming more and more a global issue. We can learn a lot from each other and we can make alliances and collaboration between the countries in order to give our clients the best services. We have to be there, where the need is”, explains Søren Søe-Larsen, CEO.

 

* Stockhabo is a leading provider of cold storage and logistics to major food businesses in Belgium and across Europe. The company owns four large-scale cold storage facilities in Western Belgium, with around 160,000 pallet positions of capacity. The company recently successfully delivered a fully-automated cold storage facility with 60,000 pallet positions located in Mouscron, Belgium. In addition to temperature-controlled storage solutions, Stockhabo also offers a variety of value-added services, including blast freezing, thawing, and order picking.
