Transportation
The hotel is easily accessible and within 45 minutes of Pudong International Airport and
Hongqiao International Airport. Note: airfare within China is included

Weather
Late October brings seasonable temperatures in China. The average high
temperature in Shanghai 68 degrees Fahrenheit (20 degrees Celsius), the
average low 60 degrees Fahrenheit (10 degrees Celsius), and the average
number of days with rainfall is 3. Temperatures in Beijing range from a
low of 45 degrees Fahrenheit (5 degrees Celsius) to a high of 55 degrees
Fahrenheit (15 degrees Celsius).
Dress
We suggest business attire (coat and tie) throughout the
conference. However, it is highly recommended that you bring warm, protective clothing for
the facility tour. There may be over 50 people on any given tour and the
facilities may not have enough coats for all tour attendees.
Electrical Current
220 volts, 50 cycles. Plugs are usually two-prong and set at an angle to
each other. The hotels should have adaptors, but you may want to bring
an adaptor just in case.
Gratuities
Tipping is now expectd and can be in USD or yuan. Generally tip waiters
10-15%, porters $1 per bag, housekeeping $2/person per day, taxi drivers
10-15%.
Proof of Citizenship and Visa
Requirements
A valid passport is required for travel and should be valid six months
beyond your travel dates. You can apply for a passport at your local
post office or the U.S. Passport Agency nearest you. Visas are necessary
for American citizens traveling to China; delegates from other countries
please check locally.
