Washington Post Reports on Global Cold Storage Capacity Report

The Washington Post commented on cold storage capacity as an indicator of growth in emerging markets. As disposable incomes rise in certain markets, consumers demand higher valued food items such as meat and dairy and can actually store this food in in-home refrigerators. This often results in a subsequent boom for U.S. agribusiness as many companies can now safely ship higher dollar products, such as pork or Washington State apples, to those countries. Read the full article, How an apple grown in the U.S.A. becomes a status symbol overseas

Help GCCA Map Worldwide Cold Storage Capacity

The 2016 Global Cold Chain Alliance Cold Storage Capacity Survey is now available! This is the world’s only report that maps out cold storage capacity by country. Take the survey.

Why is knowing cold storage capacity so important? If we understand the size and scope of the cold chain market, we can identify areas where cold chain infrastructure is sorely needed. We can then use that information to connect governments and private investors to businesses in under-served markets.

Can you provide cold storage information on a specific country? Complete our brief survey in English or Spanish at Survey participants will get a free copy of the report. The survey is also available in MS Word if you would like to preview the questions or complete the survey offline.
