There are growth opportunities in the fresh foods industry, and cold chain management is one of them, according to Tom Stenzel, president and CEO of the United Fresh Produce Association. The FreshFacts® on Retail report, released by United Fresh, revealed a growing demand for high-quality, organic, fresh produce. The IARW Financial Performance Report: 2014, Q1-Q2 shows continued industry growth. Twice a year, IARW publishes a report on the profit and revenue trends for the public refrigerated warehousing industry in North America. According to the latest report, revenue grew a modest 2.97 percent, slower than the first half of 2013. However, survey respondents indicated they expect revenue to grow in the coming year due to increasing capacity. The average growth in EBITDA was 4.8 percent in the first half of 2014, a reversal of the average EBITDA decline of 1.25 percent reported at this time last year.
