Middle East Ripe for Cold Chain Commercial Opportunities and Relationship-Building

According to a report by the Food Export Association of the Midwest USA and Food Export USA-Northeast, exports of U.S. consumer food products to member states within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) totaled US$1.4 billion in 2012.  This represents an increase of 9% from 2011 and also set a new record high. The report says that “consumer-ready products account for nearly 55% of U.S. food and agricultural product exports to the GCC countries, which include Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Saudi Arabia.
