operation and to pick up some practical ideas during the facility
tour.

Rather early in the morning we will leave for the largest flower auction
in the world and after the briefing by the supply chain manager on
organization, logistics concept and processes we will get a professional
tour to follow the product flow. With Valetine´s Day coming up, there
will be a lot to see. FloraHolland leads the way in the horticulture and
flower industry, as a matchmaker, an intermediary and a knowledge
center. With 125.000 auction transactions a day, it is a truly modern
cooperative organization. The visit will take 2,5 to 3 hours.

Logistics – Zoetermeer
This dynamic food service distribution center has a few years ago made
the successful transition from a traditional blast freezing and storage
cold store into a full-service, multi-temperature storage, order picking
and distribution organization. Cost-effectiveness is realized through
daily monitoring of qualitative and quantitative key performance
indicators.
Ideally located between the four major Dutch cities, Menken runs a
modern facility with 11.500 pallet positions frozen, 3.000 chilled, and
a total of 2.000 pick positions.
