The challenge is distribution—ensuring that food is harvested, stored and distributed to retailers and consumers in a way that minimizes spoilage—from farm gate to food plate. In the food industry, it's simply called "the cold chain." WFLO has assumed the mission of building and maintaining the cold chain in nations around the world.

India seeks to improve cold-chain infrastructure: A trade delegation from India visited the United States to learn from cold chain experts how to improve fresh produce transportation in India.
