Learn About WFLO Projects in Southern Europe

Hladnjace, voce, povrce 057Below is a list of just some of the projects completed in the region over the last five years through the research and education am of GCCA, The World Food Logistics Organization (WFLO).

Serbia: Agribusiness Project

WFLO cold chain specialists and engineering experts compiled a detailed analysis of the current cold chain industry and identified where the cold chain needs to be improved for targeted products. Specifically, WFLO experts: 1) Evaluated the current situation of cold and cool chains in the Serbia for the sale of fresh produce and fruits, locally and for export; 2) Gather information on the needs and opportunities for building cooling facilities in Serbia; 3) Identified the end markets for each category of fresh product including, but not limited to, berries, fruits, vegetables, root crops; and 4) Evaluated the applicable international standards and the market requirements for fresh products from the standpoint of post-harvest cooling, handling, transportation and logistics.
