Americold confirmed they are building facilities in Plainville, CT and Lancaster, PA in partnership with Ahold Delhaize USA to serve only the grocery retail brands of Stop & Shop and Giant. The facilities will be fully-automated, will add a combined 24 million cubic feet of cold-storage space and each facility will add about 200 new jobs to the local economies.

Ahold Delhaize USA’s Executive Vice President, Supply Chain for Retail Business Services, Chris Lewis stated,  “We’re extremely proud of this new partnership with Americold and the opportunity to fully expand our cold-storage capacity as part of our current storage needs and future growth plans. Americold is a leading expert in this space, and we’re confident in their abilities to build state-of-the-art facilities that will meet our needs and serve our omnichannel growth strategy.”
