Southeast Frozen Foods, a company which provides retail distribution to grocery stores, and cold storage for processors, manufacturers and distributors, is expanding its operations in Calhoun County. This new expansion will result in a capital investment of $6 million and create 30 new jobs. Bajo Cero Frigorificos is a frozen and refrigerated food distribution center and a Global Cold Chain Alliance member located in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico. They have a storage capacity of 24,500 pallets at controlled temperature.
As a part of their Environmental Friendly and Continuous Improvement programs, Bajo Cero invested at the end of 2015 in a new smart LED lighting system looking for energetic efficiency, savings in CO2 emissions, and better lighting conditions for the operation.
