We are pleased to announce an upcoming webinar with the Canadian Ministry of Environment to help members understand and comply with new Canadian environmental regulations impacting the cold chain industry.  As you may be aware, the E2 Regulations, 2019 repealed and replaced the previous version of the Regulations and came into force on August 24, 2019.  As of that date, any facility in Canada that had anhydrous ammonia at or above 4.5 metric tonnes (~ 2000 USWG), in either the (1) maximum expected quantity (most amount at one time in a calendar year) or (2) capacity of the largest container system, had 90 days (until November 22, 2019) to submit a Notice Regarding Substances Located at a Facility (Schedule 2) to ECCC.

Under the new E2 Regulations, 2019, all Notices must be submitted into the Environmental Emergency Regulations Reporting System available at: www.ec.ss.ec.gc.ca.  The following guidance document provides instructions on registering and reporting in the system: https://www.canada.ca/en/environment-climate-change/services/environmental-emergencies-program/regulations/filing-notice.html.

To increase awareness of these new regulations and improve compliance, GCCA and IIAR are coordinating with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) to offer a webinar on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 2:00pm ET to discuss these regulations and answer any questions you may have.
