Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Khmer Cold Chain Company is a third-party logistics (3PL) provider of temperature-controlled logistics (TCL) services, delivering international quality services to the Cambodian and regional farmers, agribusiness, food processers, pharmaceutical companies, food retailers and hotels, restaurants, caterers (HORECA), and the institutional sector. We are currently seeking a Managing Director to join our growing team in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Position Description:
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Managing Director will be the top strategic and operating executive for the company. Immediate priorities include:
Business and Organizational Assessment:
The Managing Director will assess and quickly understand the key drivers to the business and the Company’s market opportunity, market position, competitive landscape and growth prospects. He/she will evaluate the existing organizational structure and the management team and identify opportunities for improvement and how to best leverage the talent within the organization. The Managing Director will identify and prioritize specific action items directed toward achieving specific, measurable business results within the timeframe. The Managing Director will lead the team in the implementation and execution of these action items.
Driving Revenues:
The Managing Director will identify strengths, weaknesses and opportunities and craft appropriate operating strategies to drive top-line revenues. He/she will take the lead in developing effective sales and marketing programs to grow the business, deepen penetration of existing industry both verticals and horizontal and enter new markets. These programs will include specific objectives and timelines for completion. The Managing Director will effectively communicate these priorities and strategies throughout the Company and to the Board of Directors. In addition, the Managing Director will craft and present a clear, cohesive statement of strategy and direction to the customers, investors, suppliers and other stakeholders.
Instill a Top Corporate Culture:
The Managing Director will set the tone and tempo of the Company. He/she will be the chief driver to establish and elevate the drive and passion of the employee base. The Managing Director will instill confidence among the management team and establish an aggressive mentality, which won’t quit until the team’s collective goals, and objectives are reached. Staff recruitment for key positions is expected and required. Integrity and team trust will be absolutes in the Company Culture.
Delivering Results:
The Managing Director will lead and manage the company to continually achieve its short term and long-term goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Managing Director will have direct responsibility for managing the heads of all functions, including Business Development, Sales & Marketing, Operations, Finance & Accounting, Safety, Maintenance and other appropriate functions. Specific duties will include:
- Drive the growth of the business
- Implement profit and cash flow improvement initiatives
- Develop new service lines and sales channels & market segmentation
- Manage and improve operating efficiencies
- Increase enterprise value in accordance with the company’s strategic objectives
- Manage the P&L to achieve annual operating goals
- Champion the case of the position and future of the Company to the investor community
- Manage customer relationships and build a strong public image for the company
- Develop new products and services to serve the needs of the market
- Communicate the company’s goals, strategies and programs to all employees
- Develop and maintain key relationships with industry contacts and regulatory agencies
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a track record of profitably managing and growing a company in a similar industry and have a minimum of 10 years of senior operating experience, including experience as Managing Director, COO or General Manager.
The successful candidate will have risen through the operations of a warehousing company and be able to demonstrate a pattern of success in increasing sales and market share.
The successful candidate will be a proven executive and leader dealing effectively with the nuances of a small entrepreneurial company yet still have the “big picture” focus to lead the company’s growth. Experience managing within a high growth, private equity-backed, leveraged environment is highly desired. This executive must be technically sound, marketing driven, financially sophisticated, and have strong leadership skills. The Managing Director will have a demonstrable track record of maximizing resources for optimal growth. Experience leading senior management teams through acquisitions, team building, training, recruiting and retaining top talent will be essential.

He/she will consistently represent the Company in its highest light and most professional manner. This individual must be both strategic and operations-oriented, a team builder and results-oriented.
