GCCA Europe Welcomes Two New Members

GCCA Europe is pleased to introduce its two newest members in 2021 – Controlant, an Icelandic provider of digital solutions improving supply chain efficiency that joined as an associate member in the warehousing division (IARW), and SDAN (Société de Développement Axe Nord), a French logistics real-estate development and investment company that joined our construction division (CEBA).

Controlant’s mission is to deliver value across the end-to-end supply chain by dramatically increasing visibility of product flow and condition quality while minimizing waste through a completely new category of automated Cold Chain as a Service®solutions. Using its IoT, cloud-enabled advanced analytics, API connectivity, and cost-reducing operational services, customers are achieving an annualized ROI and millions in savings, reducing material losses, and enhancing the reliability of their operations. Controlant is empowering world-leading companies in the pharmaceuticals & life sciences and food & beverage sectors and their supply chain stakeholders to achieve greater efficiency by automating their business processes and optimizing communication through technology.

“The cold chain has seen much disruption in the last year and has had to become more resilient than ever—overcoming challenges previously unheard of,” says Gisli Herjolfsson, Controlant co-founder and CEO.  “This industry experienced fluctuating demand, port closures, product and people shortages, all while being expected to achieve operational and cost efficiency, ensure quality and compliance, and improve processes. Members at GCCA have the opportunity to collaborate with other members and implement best practices learned from previous issues. At Controlant, we aim to digitally connect the cold chain in order to guarantee product safety and quality condition, while also minimizing waste. Partnering with GCCA allows us to align our mission with other like-minded organizations that are committed to driving improvements in the cold chain. We also have the opportunity to learn and understand the needs and concerns of cold chain industry partners, as well as offer our own insights, lessons learned, and recommendations.” If you want to connect with new member Controlant, click here.

SDAN (Société de Développement Axe-Nord) is a development and investment company specializing in logistics real estate. SDAN has decided to settle in Dunkirk to develop an ambitious warehouse program in the logistics area of the West Port of Dunkirk. This situation requires both proximity to the Container Terminal and the Ferry Terminal, as well as a gateway to and from the “Region des Hauts-de-France”. Convinced of Dunkirk's potential based on its current dynamism and the development of its containerized traffic in Northern Europe, SDAN is developing a program for the construction of the latest generation of cold logistics warehouses. SDAN is currently developing several projects in a partnership with the ‘Grand Port Maritime’ of Dunkirk.

"We are delighted to join the Association, connect with the members of the Global Cold Chain Alliance and have the opportunity to promote our logistics projects on the Grand Port Maritime of Dunkirk”, explains Julien de Lapize, CEO. If you’re interested to connect with new member SDAN, click here.
