In light of the evolving situation surrounding Coronavirus (COVID-19), GCCA leadership has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 IARW-WFLO Convention and the 2020 GCCA Cold Chain Conference & Expo and will launch three new initiatives for members beginning in late September.
Please know that this decision was not taken lightly. The GCCA staff have spent the past two months exhausting every possible option to conduct these meetings. But after consulting with association leadership, the hotels, event venues, industry leaders, and health experts, we have come to the consensus that we will be unable to provide a safe environment for networking, learning and business development.
But all is not lost. We are excited to announce three new opportunities that GCCA will be launching soon to provide you and your team with opportunities to learn, connect, and engage with our community of cold chain professionals and supporters.
GCCA staff members will be contacting all registrants, sponsors and exhibitors to see how you would like to reposition your funds toward our new initiatives or other 2020 activities.
Cold Chain Essentials – Virtual Learning Series: September 28 through November 13:
A new, affordable virtual learning series aimed at delivering essential content for individuals of all levels within all segments of the global GCCA membership. Education topics will include: Essentials for the Cold Chain C-Suite; Facility Operations; Engineering and Construction; Supply Chain and Transportation; “Customer” Engagement; and Cold Chain Innovation. New content exclusively for associate members and vendor partners will also be available and will provide insight into our member companies and industry trends. We will also provide virtual networking and engagement opportunities to provide connection points for attendees throughout the series.
Cold Chain Collaboration - B2B Meetings: September 28 through October 9:
To provide quality connectivity and business conversations that would have occurred at both the IARW-WFLO Convention and GCCA Cold Chain Conference & Expo we will provide a virtual business meeting platform to allow GCCA members from across the world to engage in pre-scheduled meetings with qualified participants. The virtual platform allows us to expand our reach and provide new opportunities for cold chain leaders, vendors, and solution providers to engage in exchanges that help strengthen existing and create new trading partner relationships. Participant segmentation and cost models are currently being finalized. GCCA will reach out to you shortly to confirm your participation and support in this exciting new opportunity.
Innovation Summit at IARW-WFLO Strategic Board of Directors Meeting: October 22 - 26:
Attendees and sponsors that were originally scheduled to attend the IARW-WFLO Convention will have the opportunity to attend this new event held in conjunction with the October IARW-WFLO Strategic Board Meeting in Kauai, Hawaii starting on Thursday, October 22. The Innovation Summit will address the current state of the industry and how GCCA and our member companies can collectively band together to chart a course for continued success. Conversations and interactions amongst attendees and sponsors will continue throughout the weekend at meals, activities and additional networking opportunities.
More details on each of these initiatives plus registration details will be released shortly. For more information, please visit our New Initiatives page, which also includes FAQs.
Again, your safety is paramount, and we appreciate your understanding and flexibility during this time. Should you have any questions, please contact GCCA headquarters at +1 703 373 4300 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
