The U.S. Senate overwhelmingly passed President Donald Trump's trade deal with Mexico and Canada on January 16, 2020. The USMCA will now be sent to the president to be signed into law. The USMCA will not go into full effect, however, until Canada's House of Commons approves it. They will convene late January.
The USMCA would raise U.S. GDP by $68.2 billion, or 0.35 percent, by the sixth year after it enters into force, according to the independent U.S. International Trade Commission. Click to read more analysis.
