On Wednesday, May 1st, both the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Committee and the House Agriculture Committee released their frameworks for the 2024 Farm Bill. The release of the bill frameworks marks an important step in the legislative process. GCCA is excited to see that both frameworks include the expansion of the Foreign Market Development Program to address cold chain infrastructure development, as proposed in the FRIDGE Act.
GCCA greatly appreciates the support of FRIDGE Act cosponsors in the House and Senate and the leadership of the committee chairs and ranking members to move the Farm Bill process forward. We look forward to continuing our work with the committees towards the completion of a Farm Bill that will enhance cold chain capacity in developing markets, promote trade and improve food security.
