At time of writing, the International Longshore and Warehouse Union in British Columbia issued a formal strike notice that allows for potential strike action effective July 1, 2023 at 8am Pacific Time. Both parties were continuing bargaining with the assistance of a federal negotiator on Thursday, June 29. Federal Labour Minister Hon. Seamus O’Regan and Transport Minister Hon. Omar Alghabra issued a statement encouraging parties to get back to the bargaining table to find an agreement.
