GCCA has a spot at the table at the new Digitizing Traceability of Agriculture and Food (DTAF) working group that has been set up by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada in collaboration with the University of Guelph and DIACC. The discussions are set to take place over the next six to nine months on what elements could create efficiencies and opportunity around traceability of the agriculture and food supply chains from “farm to fork.” This may include such elements as verifiable credentials, digital wallets, distributed ledgers such as blockchain or others. GCCA member input is welcome on what digital traceability elements you are using already and where you see the industry going. Please contact Lowell Randel with any questions or ideas to contribute.
