The US Department of Labor announced the creation of the Apprenticeship Trailblazer Initiative, as part of the departments’ youth program work strategy.  The initiative will be a year-long apprenticeship, where Americans aged 16-24 will learn skills, garner work experience, and gain college credit (depending on their institution) during their time working.  It will provide them with an overall solid foundation and resume for pursuing a career in the field they desire.  To be eligible for the apprenticeship program, one must be aged 16 to 24, and have been registered for at least 6 months in an apprenticeship program.  Or one can be a recent youth apprenticeship graduate (maximum of 3 years since graduation).  The application deadline is Sept. 30th, 2023 for the first cohort.
