OSHA Resources for National Preparedness Month

As the very active 2020 hurricane season continues, OSHA is reminding everyone that September is National Preparedness Month and that OSHA has an Emergency Preparedness and Response webpage that provides information to protect workers responding to hurricanes, wildfires, tornadoes, floods, and other natural disasters. In addition, OSHA has published the Worker Safety and Health Resources for Hurricane and Flood Cleanup and Recovery document that provides a comprehensive list of resources.

OSHA has update the hurricanes page to highlight COVID-19 hurricane preparedness and response resources, including the FEMA COVID-19 Pandemic Operational Guidance for the 2020 Hurricane Season.

Please note that individuals who sustain losses in impacted areas can begin applying for assistance by registering online at www.disasterassistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). The website lists more than 70 types of available assistance from 17 federal agencies, including the Department of Labor, and allows individuals to both apply online and check the status of an application.
