10th Brazilian Cold Chain Congress Brings Together Industry Leaders to Discuss the Future of Refrigerated Logistics in Brazil

São Paulo June 23, 2025 – The Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) Brazil hosted the 10th annual Brazilian Cold Chain Congress on June 11 and 12, in São Paulo. The event, which has become the premier gathering for the refrigerated logistics sector in Brazil, brought together over 140 professionals, including executives from major companies, government representatives, and industry experts from Brazil and abroad.

Under the theme “The Future of Cold Chain Logistics: A Vision for the Next 10 Years”, the Congress promoted discussions about the challenges and opportunities that will shape the sector in the coming decade, focusing on topics such as regulatory developments, sustainability, artificial intelligence, operational efficiency, and consumer trends.

“The 10th edition of our Congress reflects not only the strength of our industry but also GCCA’s commitment to fostering knowledge, networking, and especially influencing public policies to drive sustainable development for the cold chain in Brazil,” said Isabela Perazza, Director of GCCA Brazil.

The event opened with remarks from Sara Stickler, President and CEO of GCCA, who highlighted the strategic importance of Latin America to the global cold chain. The closing session was led by Adam Thocher, Senior Vice President of GCCA and head of international offices, reinforcing the connection between local challenges and global trends.

The event was organized by Perazza with the essential support of Tatiana Nascimento, GCCA Coordinator of Events & Engagement, Brazil and Latin America, who helps to deliver high-level experiences for all participants in the region.

 

Program Highlights

  • Regulatory Advances and Animal Health: A robust panel with representatives from the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and private sector experts discussed the impacts of Avian Influenza and the latest regulatory updates affecting food storage and distribution in Brazil.
  • Innovation and Technology: Discussions on Artificial Intelligence applied to retail and foodservice, along with high-performance infrastructure case studies, were highlights on the second day.
  • Sustainability: ESG expert Rosana Blasio presented solutions and initiatives focused on waste reduction in the cold chain, emphasizing the social and environmental responsibility of the sector.
  • Market Perspectives: Topics such as industry consolidation, mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships between manufacturers and logistics providers were addressed by executives from Superfrio, Emergent Cold LatAm, BRF, Tirol, and Bem Brasil.
  • Cold Chain Café: An interactive session where participants engaged in roundtable discussions, exchanging experiences, challenges, and practical solutions for key issues in the industry.

 

A Sector in Transformation

The closing panel brought together executives from leading refrigerated logistics companies – Arfrio, Friozem, Brasfrigo, and Movecta – to discuss current challenges, operational bottlenecks, and the transformations needed to meet the demands of an increasingly dynamic market driven by growth in exports, imports, and domestic distribution.
