USGBC LEED Energy Modeling Guidelines for Cold Storage and Refrigerated Warehouses
The IACSC-IARW Construction/Codes Committee created a formal guidance document that designers of cold storage and refrigerated facilities can use to certify buildings under the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED rating system, approved by the USGBC.
Projects using the guidelines can potentially receive up to 19 points if they are at least 10% more efficient than the baseline established in the guide. IACSC and IARW recommend that designers notify USGBC if they intend to use the guidelines. The guidelines are available for complimentary download for members and nonmembers.
IACSC and IARW wish to recognize the following individuals who authored and reviewed the guidelines as well as members of the IACSC-IARW Construction/Codes Committee: Jake Stefan, ARCO Design/Build, Inc.; Marcus Wilcox, Cascade Energy; Ron Vallort, Ron Vallort and Associates, Ltd.; Eric Smith, International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration; Benjamin Skelton, Cyclone Energy Group; Glen Thomas and Rob Travis, Cascade Energy; and Charles Toogood, M&M Refrigeration, Inc.
