On Wednesday, December 14, 2022, GCCA Government Affairs Staff attended a meeting hosted at District Winery in Washington DC. The engagement provided GCCA to gain valuable insight into policy making priorities when it comes to supply chain with the new incoming congress. Congresswoman Lisa Blunt (D-DL), author of the Building Resilient Supply Chain Act, discussed how “supply chain” can now be used as a campaign platform. Congressman Dusty Johnson (R-SD), author of the Ocean Shipping Reform Act, spoke about the high amount of turnover and understaffing issues in the supply chain industry. Both sides were optimistic about the incoming congress and treating supply chain as a bipartisan issue.
