Among the education sessions focusing on business issues that are impacting the temperature-controlled logistics industry is a keynote presentation from the Center for Generational Kintetics’ Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer Jason Dorsey. During the Closing General Session on Tuesday, April 25, Dorsey will discuss what generational truths and differences are impacting leaders and more.
Eben James (Trenton Cold Storage, Trenton, Ontario, Canada) was elected as the 2016-2017 Chairman of the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW) Board of Directors on April 19, 2016. As the new chairman, James plans to focus on expanding the reach of the organization and building awareness for IARW members as not just third-party logistics providers, but the top experts in the cold chain.
Other new IARW officers elected for the coming year included Vice Chairman David O’Brien (Doboy Cold Stores, Hemmant, Queensland, Australia), and Treasurer Doug Harrison (VersaCold Logistics Services, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada).

The World Food Logistics Organization (WFLO) is pleased to announce nominations for the 2016 Don Schlimme Future Leader Award are now open. The award recognizes outstanding young professionals in the North American cold storage industry. Created in 2014, the award provides nominees from each of the six North American chapters the opportunity to broaden their knowledge in the industry. Each winner at the chapter level will be the guest of WFLO at the 2016 WFLO Institute in February, where the winner of the award will be announced. The overall award winner will receive a travel stipend to attend the 125th IARW-WFLO Convention & Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada in April 2016. Continue reading →
