FRIDGE Act Included in Senate Republican Farm Bill Framework

On June 11th, Senator John Boozman (R-AR), ranking member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, unveiled the Senate Republican-drafted framework for the 2024 Farm Bill. In a press release Senator Boozman said, “Following on the House Committee on Agriculture’s bipartisan passage of farmer-focused farm bill, we are putting forth a framework that exhibits a shared common ground with our Democrat counterparts on several key priorities and offers a path forward in the places where we differ.”
GCCA appreciates the framework’s support of key trade promotion policies including the FRIDGE Act and doubling the funding for USDA’s Market Access Program and Foreign Development Program. and looks forward to continuing work with both chambers of Congress as the Farm Bill process moves forward
