Senate Minority to Release Farm Bill Framework

Senate Agriculture ranking member John Boozman (R-AR) is set to release a framework outlining Republican farm bill priorities later this month. This development follows Senate Agriculture Chair Debbie Stabenow’s (D-MI) introduction of a farm bill framework in May. However, Stabenow has not yet indicated when the draft bill text will be released.

The Republican Senate framework is anticipated to be similar the House version of the Farm Bill, with some differences in reference prices for commodity crops and no spending limit for the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC). GCCA continues to work with both House and Senate committee as the Farm Bill process moves forward.
