Cold Chain, Decarbonisation, and Policy Outlook. As the global food system faces mounting pressures, from climate change to geopolitical disruptions, decarbonisation and innovation in refrigeration are emerging as critical leavers for transformation. Advances in cold chain logistics not only support sustainability goals but also play a pivotal role in enhancing food security and reducing post-harvest losses.
The resilience of food supply chains has come under intense scrutiny in recent years. Drawing on recent collaborations with European Commission and other stakeholders, we’ve gained valuable insights into stress-testing methodologies that assess vulnerabilities across the supply chain. These learnings are shaping how we prepare for suture shocks and ensure continuity in food access.
Looking ahead, the panel will explore the evolving policy and technology landscape, identifying opportunities for investment, innovation, and cross-sector collaboration. Together with fellow experts, we’ll examine how strategic cold chain development and forward-looking regulation can unlock new growth while safeguarding food systems for the future.
