4 August 2023 (Cape Town, South Africa) The Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) is pleased to announce, Megan Graaf, Supply Chain Solutions Architect from Vector Logistics as the 2023 African Future Leader Award recipient. This award was presented during the GCCA African Cold Chain Conference held in Cape Town, South Africa, 2-4 August 2023.
Ivan Sutic, Financial Director of Chilleweni Cold Storage Solutions, Owusu Akoto, CEO of FreezeLink and Renier Du Preez, CEO of Digistics represented the panel of industry leaders that judged the 2023 GCCA Africa Future Leader Award. Finalists were judged and evaluated on their industry knowledge level, track record of excellence, communication skills, and leadership skills. In addition, each candidate delivered a short presentation during the conference where Megan competed with Peter Juma Echulet, Operations Manager of BigCold.
“It is amazing to see the passion for the African Cold Chain by young talented leaders in our industry. We have great young talented leaders in Africa working hard to leave a positive impact on the development of the cold chain,” said Lizelle van der Berg, GCCA’s Director of Africa.
Megan Graaf, 2023 African Future Leader Award Winner
The GCCA Future Leader Award recognizes talented young professionals who have the potential to become cold chain leaders and make a positive contribution to the development of the global temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics industry.
“The Africa Future Leader Award competition was an amazing journey, and it’s a great honor to have won. I’m very grateful for the experience thus far, and really excited to be representing Africa and Vector Logistics at the GCCA Global NextGen Award next month,” said Megan.
Megan will represent Africa and go on to compete against young leaders from different regions in the Global NextGen Award taking place at the 2023 GCCA Convention on 24-27 September 2023 in Scottsdale, Arizona, United States.
