The Global Cold Chain Alliance participated in the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) and Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) Inaugural Supply Chain Summit, which focused on addressing pressing global supply chain challenges. The summit brought together leaders from government, industry, and academia to discuss strategies for strengthening supply chain resilience and mitigating disruptions that have impacted the economy. The event emphasized the importance of collaboration across sectors to develop more robust and proactive approaches to supply chain management.
At the summit, Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo highlighted the need for supply chain resilience as a matter of both national security and economic competitiveness. A centerpiece of the summit was the unveiling of the DOC’s new diagnostic tool, SCALE, which will allow for a comprehensive assessment of structural risks across various sectors. This tool is expected to drive strategic decision-making and foster stronger public-private partnerships.
GCCA’s presence at the event underscores our commitment to collaborating with industry and government to ensure the stability and efficiency of cold chain logistics. GCCA remains committed to ensuring that cold chain remains a crucial player in the broader conversation on national economic security and global competitiveness.
