On March 23, the Coalition for a Democratic Workplace and 99 other employer organizations sent a letter to Congress in opposition to the PRO Act. The letter points out numerous dangerous provisions of the bill, the substantial public opposition to some of the bill’s key features, and the economic toll the bill would have. Problematic provisions include:

  • Limiting the right of employees to vote on unionization via secret ballots
  • Limiting employers’ free speech rights on pros and cons of unionization
  • Allow unions to choose a bargaining unit that maximizes its chances of winning a representation
  • Require employers to give union organizers employees’ personal information without approval from the employees themselves
  • Eliminating right-to-work protections across the country
