REMINDER: Participate in GCCA’s FRIDGE Act Campaign
Share:
GT Thompson, Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee has indicated that he plans to move the Farm Bill through committee by Memorial Day. As the committee prepares to advance the Farm Bill, GCCA is reminding members of our grassroots campaign to build support for H.R. 4612 and S. 2570, known as the FRIDGE Act. The FRIDGE Act would strengthen USDA’s trade programs by adding authority to focus additional efforts on improving cold chain infrastructure in developing markets, which is essential for expanding trade and reducing food loss and waste. The FRIDGE Act was introduced with bipartisan support in the House by Reps. Randy Feenstra (IA), Tracey Mann (KS), Jim Costa (CA) and Salud Carbajal (CA), and in the Senate by Senators Braun (IN) and Fetterman (PA). The goal of the campaign is to gain broad support from members of Congress and increase the number of cosponsors for the legislation.
If you have not previously participated in the FRIDGE Act campaign, we ask that you participate in both the House and Senate campaigns to build support for the FRIDGE Act in both chambers of Congress. Please act by clicking here. Participation in this campaign is easy. Just fill out the form and the system will automatically send a letter to your elected officials.
