The confirmation process for President Trump’s nominees is well underway, with several key figures poised to influence policies critical to the cold chain industry. GCCA is actively tracking hearings and developments to ensure that the needs of members are well-represented in Washington.

The Senate has confirmed Lee Zeldin as Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Sean Duffy as Secretary of Transportation. Both confirmations mark key steps in President Trump’s effort to shape regulatory policy in environmental and infrastructure sectors. Meanwhile, Brooke Rollins, Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Agriculture, is still awaiting confirmation, as the Senate has yet to schedule a vote.

On Wednesday, GCCA’s Coordinator of Government Affairs, Kerri Marbutt, attended Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s hearing before the Senate Finance Committee as the nominee for Secretary of Health and Human Services. An additional hearing by the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pension (HELP) Committee took place on Thursday. Discussion in both primarily focused on drugs and vaccines. Dietary guidelines and chemicals in food were the main issues addressed related to the food industry.

GCCA will continue to closely track the nominations process as it moves forward.
