USDA Efforts to Protect American Agriculture
Dr. Lauren Stump serves as Deputy Under Secretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs at APHIS, where she helps lead efforts to safeguard U.S. agriculture and promote safe, fair trade.
Her previous experience includes working in the office of a U.S. Senator on agriculture and public lands policy; with the American Veterinary Medical Association in government relations; with Nestlé Purina engaging with veterinary professionals and academia; and with the Food and Drug Administration on legislative affairs related to the Human Foods Program and the Center for Veterinary Medicine.
A native of southwest Louisiana, Dr. Stump earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine.
