Fireside Chat on the 2023 Farm Bill: Navigating the DC Political Landscape
The Farm Bill is one of the largest and most complex pieces of legislation considered by Congress and is critical for supporting the nation’s food and agriculture system. It has a tremendous impact on every part of the food supply chain from producer to consumer and every link of the chain in between. The current Farm Bill expires in September 2023 and Congress is now in the process of preparing the next Farm Bill. As the deadline approaches to reauthorize this massive piece of legislation, GCCA continues to advocate for the Cold Chain. Join John and Lowell as they discuss the Farm Bill, the role of industry associations and lobbying firms and how the process works inside the beltway.

Organized by the Global Cold Chain Alliance, the Don Schlimme Future Leader Award recognizes outstanding young professionals in the North American cold storage industry. The award is named in honor of Donald V. Schlimme, Ph.D, who passed away in 2012 and was a longtime member of the GCCF (formerly WFLO) Scientific Advisory Committee (1983-2012) and a GCCF Staff Advisor for many of those years. He was an expert in food science and cold storage and was committed to sharing his extensive knowledge.
The Don Schlimme Future Leader Award recognizes outstanding young professionals who show potential for future career advancement but have not yet risen to top-level leadership positions within their company.
