Share:
The US Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to change energy conservation standards for walk in coolers and freezers. The change will be made under the authority of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act, EPCA, which requires the DOE to periodically determine whether new standards would be technologically and economically feasible. Walk-in coolers, freezers, and certain commercial and industrial equipment fall under the DOE’s jurisdiction. The public may submit comments relating to the rule change through this this email: WICF2017STD0009@ee.doe.gov. A webinar will be held by the DOE to explain the proposed rule change, and answer stakeholder questions. It will be held September 27th from 1pm-4pm (EST); register here.
