July 23, 2021
Members to Help Strengthen the Cold Chain in South Africa through Risk Management
Members of the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) South Africa have pledged their time and commitment to serve on the newly created GCCA Risk Management Committee. This committee was created to provide a permanent space for discussion, study and review of items related to risk management in cold storage facilities at all levels of operations, with a goal of improving performance and minimizing the risk of members and the industry at large.
The six committee members beginning their one-year term on 1 August 2021 are:
- Ina Botha, Executive Director, CCS Logistics (Chairman)
- Gerhard Coetzee, Financial Director, Sequence Logistics (Vice-Chairman)
- Alasdair Martin, Risk & Compliance Executive, Vector Logistics
- Ivan Sutic, Financial Director, Chilleweni Cold Storage Solutions.
- Jaco Ollewagen, Technical Manager, CCS Logistics
- Carlos De Mendonca, General Manager, Crossberth Cold Stores
“I look forward to working with this committee towards improving the overall risk management in terms of safety of people, business operations, property, data and financial assets”, says Regional Director Lizelle van der Berg. “Together we can accomplish so much more and add value to the cold storage and refrigerated transport industries of South Africa and the rest of Africa.”
Committee service offers members the opportunity to engage in focused, high-level strategic discussions about the industry and/or association programs. This is a unique chance for members to learn from their peers while giving back to the association by sharing their time and experience. Participation in committees is restricted to individuals from member companies only.
