The management of the stow group, specialized in high-performing industrial storage systems, has decided to merge all its activities under the sole brand “stow”. According to Philip Mylle, stow’s Chief Sales Officer (CSO), “this is for the group stow a further step in realizing its ambition to become the number 1 in its industry, not only in Europe, but worldwide. The added value this will create for our customers and distributors will make us gain even more market share”, Philip Mylle adds.
Up to now the group stow operates in Europe and beyond through several operating companies, each carrying their own brand such as: feralco, duwic, storax and stow. This situation resulted from consecutive mergers in the context of the international expansion of the group and it made sense in a transition period. But it causes also some inefficiencies due to the multiplication of functions in sales, R&D, support services and management. Moreover, the factories are still organized by brand, which restricts economies of scale and coordination opportunities.
This is why the group stow has decided to integrate all its operating companies and to operate solely under the brand stow. This ambitious growth project has been called “one brand, one company”. The full integration of all teams will be effective as of 1 January 2020.
According to Philip Mylle, this will make stow the largest brand of industrial storage solutions in Europe and worldwide. “Our customers – whether they are industrial companies, large distributors or logistical players – will have access to a large and top-notch range of storage solutions, even if here and there a product may change name”, says Philip Mylle. “They will be served by one sales team with one single point of contact and a better performance in terms of response time and reactivity. And, thanks to our reinforced engineering, project and after-sales teams, we will be able to deliver them unprecedented added value, that will maximally meet their needs. I am, therefore, fully confident that we will gain even more market share”.
The sales teams of the stow group will be organised into 4 geographical regions, next to an international cell responsible for the distributors and large accounts. As far as the production is concerned, the group stow will have a network of 9 factories. And, given the expected future growth, further investments are planned in the existing factories to extend their capacity and in automation. Finally, SAP will be rolled out everywhere. Jos De Vuyst, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the group stow, concludes: ”The growth that we want to realize through the project ‘One brand, one company’ is not an end in itself. It will be the result of our continued efforts to ever better meet our customers’ needs in a logistical industry in constant evolution.
