HFCs have been targeted for phase down under the American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act, due to concerns with global warming potential. EPA is ramping up enforcement measures, like working alongside Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to identify and penalize individuals involved in the illegal trade of HFCs. The alert serves as a reminder of the penalties associated with non-compliance and the potential revocation of trade licenses.
