GCCA Celebrates 2024 Feeding the Economy Report Winning PR News Platinum Award

The Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) is proud to announce that the 2024 Feeding the Economy Report (cosponsored by GCCA) has been honored with a prestigious PR News Platinum Award. This recognition underscores the value and impact of the report, a collaborative effort among 32 prominent food and agriculture organizations, aimed at spotlighting the sector’s vital role in the U.S. economy.

The report is designed to provide policymakers with clear and accessible data on how the agriculture and food industry impacts local, state, and national economies. One of the key features of the report was its comprehensive methodology, which captured both the direct and indirect economic contributions of the sector, demonstrating its far-reaching influence.

The 2024 Feeding the Economy Report revealed remarkable growth within the food and agriculture sectors, with economic output rising by over a trillion dollars compared to the previous year’s report. It highlights that these sectors now support over 48.6 million jobs, generate $2.8 trillion in wages, and contribute $1.8 trillion in taxes. Additionally, they facilitate $181.4 billion in exports, amounting to over 15% of U.S. employment and more than $9.6 trillion in economic activity—representing 20% of the country’s total output.
