GCCA is pleased to announce that the new 2023 Feeding the Economy Report has been released. GCCA is a proud cosponsor of the report, led by the Corn Refiners Association, that captures, from beginning to end in the supply chain, the contributions of the food and agriculture industry to the American economy, and it showcases the potential for continuing growth and development in these sectors.
“This year’s report shows the U.S. food and agriculture sector directly supports nearly 23 million jobs, provides $927 billion in wages, and is particularly vital to rural communities across America. Notably, the 2023 report reveals that the manufacturing of agricultural products accounts for nearly one-fifth of total manufacturing jobs in the U.S. Overall, more than 46 million jobs are supported across the food and agriculture supply chain, increasing nearly 2% since the 2019 report despite the economic challenges and disruptions associated with the global pandemic.”
GCCA gladly contributed to this initiative with the hope to shed light on the essential role of having a robust agricultural sector in place. Unsurprisingly, this report reiterates the immense opportunity to keep investing in the American fertile soil and continuing to reap the benefits at the local and national levels.
