Learn About The WFLO Institute

The WFLO Institute is a four-day educational program for public refrigerated warehousing (PRW) professionals offering more than 40 classes taught by leading experts in the refrigerated warehousing industry. The curriculum takes students through the food industry, supply chain and logistics field, and cold storage warehousing.

Students from every professional area come to the Institute to enhance their individual specialty while developing a 360 degree understanding of their company and PRW industry. The program is tailored for current or potential PRW engineers, supervisors and managers in Operations, Administration, Engineering, IT, Construction, Sales, Marketing, and Human Resources.

What Happens at the WFLO Institute?


Students attend the WFLO Institute over the course of three years, taking classes in the following disciplines: Cold Storage Industry, Customers, Warehouse Operations, Safety and Human Resources. Students are required to attend all of their assigned classes at the WFLO Institute. Attendance is tracked by course evaluation submissions. A general schedule is below.

Home Room

Students are assigned a home room for the duration of the event, which they visit frequently to touch base with their class advisor. Sunday evening features a reception and social time for students to mingle with fellow students, colleagues, class advisers, WFLO staff, and faculty.


At the end of the third year of study, students receive a graduation certificate.In 2013, a graduation ceremony was introduced to the Closing General Session, allowing students to be recognized by colleagues and faculty for completing the program. The program closes with a half-day of classes on Wednesday.


Meals for all participants are provided at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center in the Main Dining Room, beginning with Saturday dinner. .
