August, 13th – São Paulo, Brazil. The Global Cold Chain Foundation (GCCF) proudly announces the launch of the first Cold Chain Institute in Brazil. The inaugural class, composed of 31 students from 7 different companies in the Cold Chain sector, commenced their activities from August 13 to 15.

This initiative marks the introduction of the Brazilian version of the Cold Chain Institute, which will celebrate 60 years of history in 2025 in the United States. The program, already well-established in countries such as Mexico, where it has been operating for 11 years, and Australia, with 3 years of activity, is expanding its reach to Brazil and Europe in 2024.

With an innovative and proven effective format, the Cold Chain Institute is a three-day course spread over three years. The final certification is awarded only at the end of this cycle, during which students follow a structured curriculum each year. The instructors are highly qualified professionals, including executives from companies associated with GCCA Brazil and specialized consultants.

The GCCF is the nonprofit education, research, and international development partner of the Global Cold Chain Alliance. The GCCA’s primary focus is on representing and providing events and services to food logistics businesses, bringing food safely from farms to family tables.

Rodrigo Vassimon, Member of the GCCF Council in Brazil and CEO of SuperFrio Logística Frigoríficada, led the opening session. In his speech, he highlighted the foundation’s work and encouraged participants to make the most of this unique opportunity for learning and exchange of experiences.

The program covers a wide range of topics, from warehousing operations and refrigerated transport to corporate communication and emergency planning. To see the full list of classes and instructors, click on the link: https://www.gcca.org/events/gccf-cold-chain-institute-brasil/schedule/

New classes will be formed annually. If you were unable to participate this year, stay tuned for the next class that will start in August of next year, while the current class will continue with the second year of the curriculum.
