As part of this USDA-funded Emerging Markets Program (EMP), GCCF will assess the technology, operations, and investment in cold chain logistics and food safety in Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire, and Ghana. Based on this assessment, GCCF will implement a series of technical trainings, a study tour, and consultations in addition to developing a cold chain mentorship program with established operators from North America. GCCF will also work with local associations to scale-up their cold chain programming for sustained support beyond the life of this project. Ultimately, this project seeks to increase the trade of proteins and other perishable products, reduce food waste, and improve the quality of food in the region.
